Vancouver Children's Centre

Sure Start Children’s Centres are responsible for delivering services for children under 5 and their families. This includes access to early learning and childcare, family and parenting support, activities such as baby massage and explorers, breastfeeding support, parent & toddler/stay & play sessions. The centres link with other partners such as Health Visitors and Midwives and Jobcentre Plus to offer support with adult learning, returning to work and health related issues. All Sure Start Children’s Centres also have a duty to provide access to information and signposting to services for families and children 0-19 and 0-25 for those children with additional needs. The centre opens from 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Thursday and 08:30 to 16:00 on Fridays all year round.

SEND Local Offer details:
Our aim is to work with all children aged 0-8 and their families. Our service provides activities from the Centre and at a variety of local outreach venues. We aim to meet all family’s needs including social inclusion, supporting parents to access and understand processes and provisions that are specialist to them. We aim to help with successful signposting to the relevant support, the provision of stimulating activities and the provision of individual home based learning programs and joint working between Centre staff and professionals supporting the families. We aim to make our services accessible to all families with children aged 0-8 years. Our venues are wheelchair accessible and we work to ensure that sessions meet the individual needs of attendees. We will strive to communicate with you and your child in the best way possible. If you have a compliment or complaint you feel you cannot approach me with you need to contact Ofsted on 0300 1231231.
