Kyle-Woods, Carmella (Childminder)

As a childminder, I have built my setting and environment based on my previous 10 years’ experience in child care, including a degree in Early Childcare Studies. I have taken into account everything I have learnt so far, including what works well and what doesn't, and used this to try to provide a service that is inclusive, welcoming, loving and educational both for children and their families. I strive to work in partnership with parents and carers in order to care for their children in a way that suits their individual needs and wants. My home is set out with designated play rooms for the children and I have a range of indoor and outdoor toys. I like to make the most of local facilities and want to keep the children's day active and exciting when they are with me. One of the reasons that I chose to become a childminder is that I also value the home/family environment that I am able to provide. This means that I view myself as a mixture of an educational environment that cultivates children's growing and learning, and an extension of family life. I will care for your children as if they were part of my own family and will include them in a way that makes them feel like a valued part of my life. I am always open to hearing the opinion of my parents, whatever their feeling may be, and fully understand and accept that as parents, you know your child best. In this way, I hope you will feel completely comfortable and at ease with me and will be happy to have your children under my care.

SEND Local Offer details:
Baby Steps aims to provide care that is all-inclusive and does not discriminate against any child, parent or carer for any reason. As such, I will work hard to communicate with the parents and create the caring environment best suited to each individual child. Any child who has any particular needs can be provided with a care plan that myself and the parent/s will write together so that we feel we are working in partnership. I aim to have an open space to discuss any particular routines or equipment that will benefit then child/ren. I will adapt my environment to meet the needs of children, taking into consideration disabilities, health needs, and dietary requirements.
